On 2 July the event “L’io in movimento – come lo youth work abbraccia la danza” was held at CEIPES, as part of the “CEIPES – OPEN DAY” initiative, which aimed to disseminate the results achieved with the project “Love, Life and Dance”.

Love, Life and Dance: Expressive therapy for empowering youth, (project number – 2017-1-RO01-KA205-036251) is the project carried out by CEIPES for a period of two years, from September 2017 to November 2019, which involved the following partners: GAMMA Institute of Ia Universitài (Romania), University ”Danubiua ”Of Galați (Romania) and ASPAYM Association of Castilla y Leon (Spain). The project, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus + program (Strategic partnerships for innovation and the exchange of good practices in the field of youth work), aimed to create and promote non-formal learning tools and methodologies, for the empowerment of young people, through expressive arts and movement.

In order to be able to reach the intended objective and put into practice the experimental methods created in collaboration with the partners, Ceipes organized a cycle of free laboratories, L’io in movimento, from June to October 2018 “. These involved young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who were able to experience the different themes on which the meetings were based: self-assessment, emotional expression, empowerment , bodily expression, leadership and social inclusion and spirit of initiative. through the creation of the Workshops, which consisted of two days of the workshop The key point of the meetings was to give the opportunity to stimulate self-awareness and self-esteem. The first cycle of workshops took place in July. Thanks to the presence of a vast heterogeneity of subjects from different cultures in this laboratory, the proposed themes were fully implemented through the integration of the various subjects.

In the following laboratories, despite the absence of different cultures, the heterogeneous component was the reflection of the different characters of the guys who made up the group. However, despite the heterogeneity, the guys, through the tools provided, were able to pull out their potential by putting themselves on the line with themselves and with others.

Thanks to the results achieved in each of the laboratories, the Ceipes, collaborating with the different partners, has created a toolkit, which can be seen as a tool with the aim of being able to promote, through dance and other expressive techniques, given the experience of the laboratories , well-being, self-knowledge, self-esteem, ability to socialize and social inclusion. The toolkit is also avaible in English, Romanian and Spanish on the project platform.

This manual was distributed during the Multiplier event, organized by Ceipes in Palermo, Italy on 2 July 2019, to disseminate the results of the Love Life and Dance project.

During the event there were several performances by young people who had participated in the workshops, demonstrating the success of the project in the lives of the different kids who took part in it. In the first place there was a dance performance, through which the role of this in the change of one’s life was emphasized. Then there was a musical performance through the language of signs based on the concept of the power of expression through gestures, and finally we witnessed the exposition of a sung story, demonstrating how different social themes can be touched through music.

The success of Love Life and Dance opened the way for a new Lifelong Dancing project. By emphasizing the role of dance, it is aimed at adult education and disadvantaged individuals.
