Due mesi fa la nostra Gaia è partita per il Portogallo ed ha dato inizio al suo Servizio Volontario Europeo; ecco a voi le sue prime impressioni:
La motivazione che mi ha invogliata ad affrontare questo viaggio era innanzitutto riordinare i miei pensieri. Sono qui ormai da due mesi e mi sento proprio bene!
Vivo in una piccola città’ del Portogallo, Aveiro, caratterizzata dal suo fiume e dai suoi mille colori. I cittadini la chiamano “la Venezia Portoghese” ed il cibo devo dire che è buono. Al lavoro l’ambiente e’ bellissimo! La mattina ci sono mille sorrisi che mi aspettano in ufficio.
Lavoro nell’ ambito dell’ organizzazione di eventi ed in questi due mesi ho lavorato come animatrice e insegnante di teatro per i bambini di tutte le età,asilo, elementari e medie Ormai e’ la mia “Crianças”. Penso che siano tutti geniali.
Mi piace la loro ingenuita’ nei confronti del mondo, il loro desiderio di attenzioni che non sanno nemmeno di avere e soprattutto la normalita’ con la quale si scambiano gesti d’amore reciprocamente. Ci sono momenti in cui li osservo e con uno sguardo cerco di farli sentire speciali e tutti importanti. Nell’ultimo periodo lavorativo ci siamo impegnati ad organizzare uno spettacolo di Natale per bambini “Vou pescar a lua”.
Ricordo che la prima volta che ho sentito recitare in portoghese, ho pianto, perche’ mi sentivo in sintonia con le attrici; è’ stato magico veder che una cosa che appartiene a te – il teatro , viene condivisa in un altro angolo d’Europa. Dopo tanti giorni lavorativi, ho concluso il mio primo step. Sono molto soddisfatta e felice.
Questo viaggio era quello di cui avevo bisogno.

First of all, the motivation that inspired me to face this journey was to rearrange my thoughts. I’ve been here for two months now and I feel really good!
I live in a small town in Portugal, Aveiro, characterized by its river and its many colors. The citizens call it “the Portuguese Venice” and the food I have to say is good. At work the environment is beautiful! In the morning there is a thousand smiles waiting for me in the office.
I work in the organization of events and, in these two months, I worked as an animator and theater teacher for children of all ages: kindergarten, elementary and middle school. Now they are my “Crianças”. I think they are all brilliant.
I like their ingenuity towards the world, their desire for attentions that they do not even know they have and, above all, the normality with which they exchange reciprocal gestures of love. There are times when I look at them and with a look I try to make them feel special and all important.
In the last working period we have committed to organize a Christmas show for children “Vou pescar a lua”. I remember that the first time I heard acting in Portuguese, I cried because I felt in tune with the actresses; it was magical to see that something that belongs to you – the theater, is shared in another corner of Europe. After so many working days, I concluded my first step. I am very satisfied and happy.
This trip was what I needed.
