3rd of July, cool night in the small town in the Netherlands, perfect silence, no road signs. Two girls, Polish and Portuguese, are trying to reach Olde Vechte in Ommen, where, starting from the next morning, for 6 days, as Italian participants, they are going to learn and share their experience with other 30 young people of over 20 nationalities. Next morning the EUvolve seminar started, fortunately everyone found the place on time.

“For me this experience was like a lightening. A lightening of inspiration and positive energy”, admits Eva, one of our participants. The second one, Zuzanna, adds that after this seminar she’s full of new ideas for her volunteering at CEIPES. This week was definitely well spent. But what was the seminar about? Main topics covered were youth work, digital marketing and project management. Special space was given also for creating new networks for future collaborations.

In the field of youth work participants learnt by non-formal methods, starting from the definition of “youth worker”, through the glance at youth’s situation in different countries and true methods of working with the young, finishing this part of seminar with workshops prepared and led by participants. Eva gave a workshop about working with migrant children and racist behaviours among kids, basing on her experience gained during voluntary work in her hometown in Portugal.

In a part referred to project management, organizers shared their experience and materials to facilitate writing the first project to participants and to those with whom they’ll share their knowledge in their communities. Sessions dedicated to digital marketing concerned the usage of social media in order to promote the activities of the organization and to make its work more visible. In other words, to be, as an organization, always up-to-date in the digital world, which is a part of everyday life of each of us, especially of young people. Referring to this, the best thing that can be added right now is: follow us on Facebook and on Instagram to keep yourself updated about other mobility activities, volunteering works and various events organized by CEIPES.
