INCAI – Now it was CEIPES turn! Inclusion in Palermo

The INCAI project (2020-1-UK01-KA204-079191) explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) practices that are used to develop social inclusion in different contexts.

This time, on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March 2023 it was CEIPES turn, hosting the organisations from different European countries and giving them opportunity to see several realities and examples of inclusion through technology existing in Palermo.

Indeed, the participants visited FabLab Palermo which is a center that evocates for education through technology. They organise different kinds of activities and trainings for young people, children and people with disabilities, giving the possibility to learn about 3D printing, robotics, among other related topics. Besides, the partners did a study visit and saw the functioning of a 3D printing machine in Lisca Bianca, an organisation created to promote the social and occupational inclusion of disadvantaged young people.

In addition, CEIPES had the opportunity to show the partners and make them live the immersive experience through the senses and the Virtual Reality used in the Analogical and Digital Museum of the Empowerment of CEIPES, created to promote education and inclusion, as its main topics are migration, gender and environment. Finally, the participants assisted to a conference with Benedetto Inzerillo (professor of the University of Palermo) and his students, who exposed their projects about the design thinking applied to social inclusion.

The partners had the opportunity to meet, talk about some thematics of project management and, of course, they had the occasion to know the historical center of the city of Palermo.
