On the 27th and 28th September the kick-off meeting of the “DISEMEX – Disability Employment Expert” project took place in Düsseldorf, Germany at INTAMT premises, which is the Lead partner of the project. CEIPES representatives attended the meeting.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission under the Key Action 2 Strategic Partnership for Adult Education, Exchange of Good Practices and it lasts 18 months.

DISEMEX aims to exchange good practices and benchmarking of best practice strategies that facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into the regular labour market and thus promoting inclusion. Of particular interest are organisations and methods that reduce structural barriers without having a charitable claim to help. The aim of DISEMEX are empowerment projects, not transfer. The aim of the organisations and projects under consideration is to enable the self-determination and independence of people with disabilities in society.

During the two days meeting a presentation of each partner organisation was made and an introduction of objectives and activities to carried out was outlined. Partners also discussed about the dissemination and communication strategy to adopt together with the logo designed and proposed by CEIPES. The last day of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of two best practices carried out by the German context in terms of inclusion of people of disabilities into the labour market.

Partners also participated to the “Rehacare International”, one of the world’s leading international trade fairs for rehabilitation, prevention, care and inclusion that takes place every year in Düsseldorf. The fair is an ideal platform and communication and information gathering place for industry leaders, innovative newcomers of products and services as well as for social organizations, self-help groups and non-profit institutions that want to received detailed information regarding the latest developments, products, services and trends of the industry, to develop new business relationships and to establish business contacts and it targets people with disabilities, with need of nursing care, for the elderly and the chronically ill people.

The second transnational meeting of the project will take place in Oradea, Romania from the 27th and 28th of November 2018.
