The transnational meeting of the “Immigrant Friendly Cities”project, held in Lipsia (Germany) on 3 and 4 July, was concluded a few days ago, during the meeting the progress of the project were discussed.

“Immigrant Friendly Cities” is a project funded by the Erasmus + Program – Strategic Partnership – Innovation cooperation and exchange of good practices involving six different european partners, CEIPES (Italy), WISAMAR (Germany), SOSYAL ETKI (Turkey), PRO-IFALL (Sweden), AKETH (Greece), FONIX AS (Norway).

The main objective of the “Immigrant Friendly Cities” project is to create a website and a mobile APP with permanent information about housing, health, education, work, taxation, free time, legal and social assistance services present on the European territory, the purpose is to help migrants integrate into the social context, knowing their rights and duties, promoting their integration through an awareness-raising on the refugee crisis in Europe.

During the meeting, each partner presented a brief update on the status of the work in progress, presenting its own need analysis.

The contents and layout of the mobile app were then decided, which will be appropriately divided through specially dedicated sections, which include: language, education, health, legal assistance, work and training, socio-cultural activities.

Within each section, content related to rights and duties, costs, geolocation and websites with related links are available.

The following day, issues related to project management were discussed (such as the distribution of other tasks, shared drives, deadlines and upcoming meetings) and the dissemination strategy (division of tasks). Ceipes is responsible for the contents and graphics in the brochures.

The next meeting will take place on October 31st and November 1st in Lund (Sweden), stay tuned!
