GASTROFISH

The project ended with the final conference in Turkey

The KA2 Erasmus+ project “Gastrofish” funded by the European Commission (number of project 2019-3-TR01-KA205-080005) has held its final conference in Turkey on the 21st of December 2022, with the participation of a wide range of stakeholders, institutional actors, citizens and media. CEIPES attended through online video call and has presented the training hosted in Palermo, May 2022.

The Consortium is composed by four partners – Yalova University, SUYMERBIR and AKSAM from Turkey, Innopolis from Greece, CEIPES from Italy and DIDEAS from Spain.

Launched on the 7th of April 2020, the partnership worked hard to reach the goal for which it was created: empowering Youth by improving their digital e-learning in the Gastrofish sector.

Relying on their expertise in the sector of youth empowerment and digital skills, combined with a favourable geographical environment to share fishing best practices, the partnership has been able to produce great results:

  • Produce a detailed report in each partner countries about the current state of the Fishery 4.0 in Europe.
  • Created an e-learning platform to teach best practices on fishing 4.0 accessible to the Youth.
  • Organised four show-cooking sessions in each partner country to learn the best aquaculture/fish cooking techniques, such as this output young people will learn the best cooking techniques, such as the fish type to be cooked, length of cooking time, cooking oil and ways to preserve the nutrition profile of the product, keep omega values and minimize the formation of harmful compounds.
  • Held 2 Short Term Joint Staff and four Learning Training and Teaching in the partner countries, during which best practices were exchanged and different actors were involved.

What we expect now is a sharp improvement in the knowledge and practices and regarding Fishery 4.0 as well as an increased social participation in the fisheries sector at local, regional, national, European or global level.

Thanks to four Transnational Meetings held in each partner country and a smooth spirit of cooperation, the partnership wishes also a future collaboration reaching more goals together.
