The EUpTrain partners met in Lisbon, Portugal, for the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity which took place between the 9th and 12th of November 2021. The training activity was hosted by the Portugese partner Aproximar at their organization headquarters.

EUpTrain: Transnational knowledge exchange between trainers of low-skilled adults in multiple European countries (project number: 2020-1-AT01-KA204-077961) is a project which aims to create an international network between Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and Romania in order to share information, skills, methods and good practices in the training of low-skilled adults.

The training activity was an opportunity for the project manager and expert trainers in the education of low skilled adults (and others) to meet and to share their experience, methods, and activity in training. The partners also took this opportunity to narrow down which best practices and methods would be included in the project’s handbook.

The next steps are to continue developing this content, and produce the handbook itself.

As well as sharing these best practices, the partners visited a local training centre – AFID, primarily for adults with disabilities, but also for other vulnerable adults. They provide vocational training in areas such as cooking, gardening, and ceramics. AFID organised a presentation of the trainees cooking skills, preparing some sweets for us!

The experience in Lisbon was highly rewarding, and was a fantastic opportunity to share and learn.

The partners are working hard to produce the project handbook, and it will be coming soon, so watch this space!
