ALL HANDS ON DECK – The final meeting to talk about the latest results that the consortium has achieved

On the 24th of May took place in Brussels the final Transnational Project Meeting of the All Hands on Deck project. After the last meeting held online, the partners met to define the latest activities and the results obtained.

ALL HANDS ON DECK” is a signal used on board ship, and it means that everyone is needed in a particular situation; but the crisis of the last years has two important labour victims who have suffered the worst of the crisis: younger ones (because they are not receiving their first opportunity) and professionals beyond 45 years old. Current work panorama at European Union is quite different from a decade abroad.

This project has the objective of recovering the shipwright job profession around Europe.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation of the partnership composed of different expertise, it was possible to take stock of the already developed materials and the results obtained in the first two years of project implementation.

In this 5th Transnational Project Meeting, it was focused on reviewing all the results, a digital repository of traditional shipwright knowledge and techniques, already available on the project website. After that, the e-learning course with 15 module, in occasion of the meeting, they were presented by the partners who were working on developing the contents material. So now, it’s already possible to register into the AHOD e-learning platform. For each module there will be a short video to present the contents of the shipwright course. Furthermore, to make learning even easier and faster, the partners thought about creating infographics as a summary of the most important data.

In these last months for each country of the consortium there are people who are testing the platform, so that they enter the world of the shipwrights, and can help to improve the content by giving direct feedback.

Also, about the IO3 result, the course on mentoring through 8 videos, animated or made by instructors in the field. In recent months, 20 participants form Greece have tested the various modules, giving excellent feedback to the consortium. This will allow the project to involve many people across Europe.

Dissemination events in various countries have been a success, in Italy, Spain and Poland. There is also the possibility to participate in the online event organized by the partner Innovawood in here you can still register on May 27 through this link.
