ALERRT – 2nd transnational project meeting in Lisboa

On 22nd February 2022, In Lisboa it was held the 2nd Transnational meeting of the project ALERRT – “Autism on the Line! Educating first Responders on how to Recognise and Treat individuals with autism”. ALERRT aims to train first responders in a set of skill that make possible for them to understand how to recognise, interact and treat appropriately individuals with ASD in cases of emergency.

During the meeting the consortium had the possibilities to check about the state of all the intellectual outputs. They are nearly to conclude the work in the Intellectual Output 2, The VET Trainer Manual that will be a good tool in the organization of the next training courses. The partners are also developing a Safety kit for people with ASD and will make all the material accessible on the learning platform of the project that is in development.

Thanks to the outstanding management of COFAC we also had the possibility to see the place where they develop their VR software and make a first test of the VR scenarios for training first responders. These scenarios give the possibility to feel into a real dangerous situation and make the user choose the right options to solve the situation in the best way.

CEIPES will organize the first training event in May in Palermo, whit participants from all the countries involved in the project (Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Italy and Belgium). A good occasion to test our material and improve the quality of the work we are developing in order to create the best tools and practices for the training of first responder.
