GREEN JOBS AMBASSADORS – Towards Green Professions: Conclusions and Results of the Project

Climate change, sustainable agriculture, environmental justice, resilient cities, and the rise of “green” professions: these were the main topics addressed by the Green Jobs Ambassadors project (2022-1-PL01-KA220-VET-000088140), which ended on August 31, 2024, and involved CEIPES ETS as the Italian partner within the consortium.

The 24-month project, funded by the Erasmus+ program, represented a crucial initiative in supporting young people to enter the green job market, in line with the European Green Deal’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Involving four international partners – New Europe Foundation (Poland), CEIPES ETS (Italy), Inercia Digital (Spain), and Huemaniser (Estonia) – the project allowed for the development of methodologies and activities aimed at bridging the gap between vocational education and environmental skills, offering high-quality educational resources to train students, trainers, and companies in the green professions sector.

In the first phase of the project, the consortium developed and elaborated educational tools that were later used by the Green Jobs Ambassadors – young people trained to become multipliers of knowledge in the field of green skills. The Ambassadors played a key role in transferring this knowledge to students of vocational training institutes (VET), providing them with the skills needed to tackle the challenges of the job market.

At the local level, CEIPES ETS organized training workshops that, using the operational manual developed by the partnership, supported 376 young students in gaining more knowledge and skills about emerging green professions, understanding the dynamics and challenges of the job market, and developing a more sustainable approach to their lives and professional activities.

At the end of the project activities, on July 11, 2023, CEIPES ETS organized a final event to disseminate the results at its headquarters. The event was an important opportunity to present the results achieved and the methodologies developed during the project to the local community, highlighting the key role of international cooperation in promoting the growth of skills related to environmental sustainability. This contributed to strengthening the project’s impact on the labor market, in line with the objectives set out by the European Green Deal.
