On July 13th, the second Transitional Meeting of the 3D4ELDERLY project took place in an online conference due to COVID-19.

3D4ELDERLY – “3D printing to create innovative learning pathways for caregivers and staff members dealing with people with Alzheimer and elderly people with dementia” is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus + program, KA201 – Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education and involves 4 partners of several countries creating a consortium: BETI – Viesoji Istaiga Baltijos Edukaciniu Technologiju Institutas (Lithuania), CEIPES – CEntro Internazionale Per la Promozione dell’Educazione E lo Sviluppo (Italy), CETEM – Asociacion empresarial de investigacion centro tecnologico del muebley la madera de la region de Murcia (Spain), ABA – Association Bulgarian Alzheimer.

3D4elderly is a project aimed to create innovative learning pathways that increase the quality of the work of caregivers and staff members dealing with people with Alzheimer and elderly people with dementia and to raise the quality of the life of the patients by using 3D technology.

In the meeting partners has discuss about the obtained results in recent months and of those that the partners are implementing in this period. ABA has presented the methodology expected in the IO1 – “Develop a methodology for creating new 3D printing exercises for people with Alzheimer and elderly people with dementia”.

After the meeting, ABA will share the file with the partners in order to have their feedback and then all the partners can have the opportunity to translate the document in the partners’ language, so that it will be published on the project website.

Furthermore, ABA has communicated that the first 10 exercises/games in the IO1 A4 are ready to be evaluated by 3D printing partner expert. For this reason, CEIPES will evaluate which exercises are ready to be developed and which ones are not suitable for 3D printing. About that, CEIPES is the leader of the IO2, the next activities to implement are to start to model the CAD exercises. Later, with the STL files, the models will be tested through the 3D printing machine.

Continuing with the meeting, BETI, leader the IO3, showed to the partners the platform mockup, which was prepared by their graphic designer. The platform will contain all the 15 exercises developed by the project consortium. All partners liked the work done by BETI, they suggested adding to the platform all links that lead to the social media pages and above all to the website page. So can anyone have all the information on the results of the project and can download the guidelines to 3D4ELDERLY project.

Afterwards, regarding the dissemination, it was presented all the results obtained in six months of activity through the social media pages and views on the project website. Subsequently, the project coordinator updated all partners about the rules and news to follow in the coming months.

In September, the partners will meet for updates and notices. We hope that the European situation will allow us to finally meet in presence for the next Transnational Meeting.
