“3D Printing in VET”, (project number 2019-1-EL01-KA202-062909) it’s a project funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Programme (KA2, strategic partnership for innovation and exchange of good practices in the VET field).

3D printing in VET will last 24 months (1-10-2019 to 30-09-2021) and it involves 6 partners from different countries: Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (Germany), European Education & Learning Institute (Greece), CENTRO INTERNAZIONALE PER LA PROMOZIONE DELL’EDUCAZIONE E LO SVILUPPO ASSOCIAZIONE (Italy), Escola Técnica de Imagem e Comunicação Aplicada (Portugal), UNIVERSITA TELEMATICA INTERNAZIONALE-UNINETTUNO (Italy), WYZSZA SZKOLA EKONOMII I INNOWACJI W LUBLINIE (Poland), INERCIA DIGITAL SL (Spain) and KEKAPER-REGION OF CRETE(Greece) which is the coordinator.

The project is developing training programme will support teachers and educators to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies needed for the use of 3D printers on several educational subjects being taught in VET sector.

From March 16th to 22nd all the partners were busy for the Joint Staff Training Event. Coordinated by the leading partner KEKAPER-REGION OF CRETE who invites students and teachers to participate in it. In the first four days each partner, presented all the various modules that comprise the eLearning course. On the first day It was presented Module 1: Technical Basic / Entering Module, from 3DP-VET eLearning platform. Then ETIC with Module 2: Introduction to 3D Printing and so on with Modules 3: 3D Printing in Education, in which CEIPES collaborated with the EELI organization. Lastly, the partners presented the interesting presentations of module 4, Design and / or Print 3D Objects and module 5 and 6 on the Overview of CAM Processes, Set up a 3D printer. On the fourth day of the training, the consortium of partners focused on the presentation of the structure of the Training guide for VET educators and the Course Syllabus.

These days of training led to reflection on what changes are important to make. In particular on the importance of an improvement on the visual part of the .ppt material and standardize with a format that is the same for all partners. Also give more importance to visual content, such as images or diagrams, to facilitate learning.

Another important aspect that has been talked about is the possibility that each user will receive a certificate. Issued by partners, certifying learning with questionnaires at the end of each module.

In conclusion, the last day partners talked about developing the project giving the possibility at the teachers to print ready-made exercises, made by the experienced partners in 3D modeling, CEIPES, ETIC, UNINETTUNO, WSEI. These 3D objects fall into useful exercises for teaching in the school subjects of Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Art, Architecture, Physics and other useful exercises for students with SpLD.

On behalf of the entire CEIPES team, we are very proud of how the project has been developed so far. The JSTE was very interesting to participate, for the opportunity to see how all the partners developed a very great content. The partners will continue to see each other in the monthly meetings for updates made by the partners.
