L’1 luglio, 36 ragazzi provenienti da sei Paesi diversi, si sono incontrati a Vaunieres, un vecchio borgo abbandonato negli anni ’50 e adesso dedito al turismo ecosostenibile.
Appena arrivati, ci siamo subito trovati immersi nella natura, lontani dalla tecnologia e circondati dalla maestosa bellezza delle Alpi francesi. Lo scambio ha previsto inizialmente attività di team building che ci hanno permesso di conoscerci e cominciare a stringere dei legami, che poi si sono evolute in workshops organizzati sia dai trainers che ci hanno seguito, che dai singoli gruppi nazionali.
Il complesso di queste attività ha avuto come tema centrale i metodi di comunicazione non violenta e non verbale, e ha coinvolto interamente ogni partecipante. Tramite la simulazione di ruoli e l’assegnazione di compiti ai diversi gruppi di nazionalità miste, abbiamo sperimentato come risolvere conflitti e situazioni venutisi a creare a seguito di incomprensioni linguistiche e culturali. Inoltre le varie attività hanno spinto i singoli partecipanti a esprimersi non solo per quanto riguarda il tema trattato, ma anche in merito alle proprie capacità ed esperienze personali.
Il clima che si è venuto a creare è stato senza dubbio piacevole e coinvolgente, e il nostro bagaglio culturale si è arricchito in modo spontaneo. Tramite le Intercultural Evenings abbiamo condiviso le tradizioni culinarie e non delle varie nazionalità presenti, e a partire da queste occasioni la condivisione è continuata anche durante il tempo libero. Nel complesso, ci è stata data la possibilità di far valere le nostre opinioni e apprendere da quelle altrui e dai materiali forniti dai trainers, il tutto divertendoci e vivendo bellissime esperienze insieme.
Avendo come sfondo il bellissimo villaggio di Vaunieres, tra storia e tradizione, siamo stati anche coinvolti nella gestione ecosostenibile del posto e l’attenzione per questo ci ha ripagati consentendoci di staccarci dallo stress della vita cittadina e delle costanti comunicazioni sul web.
Alla fine dello scambio ci siamo ritrovati con un gruppo coeso, collaborativo e rispettoso di quei principi che erano stati stabiliti all’inizio della settimana, e abbiamo portato via con noi degli splendidi momenti e delle valide amicizie, oltre a tutte quelle riflessioni e competenze che non smettono di essere utili nella società odierna.

The first of July, 36 young boys and girls from six different countries, have met in Vaunieres, an old mountain village abandoned in the 50’s and now dedicated to Eco sustainable tourism.
Once we arrived, we immediately found ourselves surrounded by nature, far from technology and surrounded by the majestic beauty of French Alps. The first part of the exchange was about team building activities, which allowed us to know each other and to forge ties, so later evolved in workshops organized both by the trainers, following us, and by each national group.
The main topic of these activities was the methods of non-violent and non-verbal communication, and fully involved each participant. By establishing fictional roles and assigning tasks to different groups of mixed nationalities, we experimented how to solve conflicts and situations that arise as a result of a linguistic and cultural misunderstandings.
The setting that was shaped was undoubtedly enjoyable and engaging, and our cultural awareness spontaneously enriched. Through the Intercultural Evenings we shared culinary and other traditions of our nationalities, and from these occasions sharing continued even during our free time. We had the chance to express our opinions and to learn from the opinions of others and from the materials provided by the trainers, all of this having fun and living beautiful moments together.
With the stunning village of Vaunieres as background, between history and tradition, we were also involved in taking care of the place in an ecological way, and being attentive about this paid us back, since we were able to disconnect from our cities’ life and from the constant pressure of internet.
At the end of the exchange we had a united and cooperative group, respectful of those principles that were established at the beginning of the week, and we brought back home amazing moments and good friendships, as well as all those ideas and skills that never cease to be useful in today’s society.
