What is the good life?

What is the good life?

***ENGLISH VERSION***

What is the good life? We wondered when we decided to put the backpack on our shoulders and leave for Weimar. Everyone had their own idea of good life, perhaps abstract, but we were ready to compare our ideas to build something together with 60 other guys from all over Europe. The EBJ Weimar organization greeted us with enthusiasm and the planned activities had the primary purpose of getting together to create a close-knit international group.

What is good life? This question has accompanied us for all 12 days of the summer camp. We tried to understand it together with young people from all over Europe, comparing with so many topics, with discussion, games and workshops. In this summer camp did not even miss the excursions that allowed us to get together further with all the other groups.

Our national team consisted of 6 people. We were a group very tight-knit although we had just met. and our synergy helped us to create strong links with people of other nations.

It was amazing to be part of an international group because we had the opportunity to confront with people from different cultures and nations, and the facilitators, extremely good and competent, were also our guides in the sessions

The topics discussed were different, such as sustainability and decreasing, made possible the comparison on different levels and through various gimmicks. In this regard, the use of non-formal education tools has been very useful because it has allowed, among other things, to create links and connections within the group. Interculturality has not failed and added a significant touch to the meetings because each participant could contribute not only with their own knowledge but also with their cultural background.

Listening different points of view has grown us and understand that our society is based on the difference and this must be our strength and departure point to build our future, not the point of arrival.

Besides meeting new international friends we gained many knowledge that we will certainly use in our future employment. Those leisure activities in between managed to make everything lighter giving us the motivation to face the next argument even though we were all snowed under with seminaries. In a nutshell it was simply ace as well as the food.

“For me, these days spent there are my ideal for a good life for several reasons, mainly because we were always in company, never alone: we have allowed us to get acquainted with participants from different cultures and have made us reflect on important issues such as sustainability and decreasing. I have learned so much from each of them, thanks to the possibility to express our opinion in any moment and thanks to the various debates that have been there, I was therefore enriched culturally and made me think so much about the importance of sustainability and the risks to which we are going to meet, and I think that each of us should be polite to respect for the environment as well as of course the individual.” (Isabella)

“For me it was a unique experience, both as a participant and as a team leader of Italian team trying to do my best in all aspects. Thanks to CEIPES and EBJW for have allowed me to do this experience.” (Luca)
