General Aim of the call:

In accordance with the ALF strategic framework of the operational phase 2012 – 2014, the aim of the Call is contributing to foster the role of the Foundation in the promotion of intercultural dialogue at grassroots level of the society, through community mobilization and participation and supporting the implementation of civil society’s initiatives.

 Objective of the call :

The Call aims to support project ideas that promote the mobilization and empowerment of civil society for inclusion and active citizenship.

 Project title:

The perfect City,  could be mine ?

 Themes:

Aim and Objectives:

Aim: To combat discrimination and exclusion of minorities (persons with limited mobility)  in Euro-Mediterranean countries , involving young people and contributing to create a more inclusive society. Another aim is to foster the sense of respect of our environment and earth, making sure that all the outcomes of the project will be made with recycled materials. Finally the project intends to raise awareness on the need of the minorities in young people’s overlook, for example, they may stop considering them not as “second class” citizens.

Objectives:

  1. To involve  10 youth workers and 20 youngster from the partner countries .
  2. To carry out an awareness raising campaign on the lack of facilities for reduced mobility people in the countries involved in the project
  3. To foster knowledge on minority issues in Euro-Mediterranean country, specifically on disable people.
  4. To organize a course ( in one of the partner countries) where the youngsters will gather with the experts’ guidance, the course will be on the theme mentioned above.
  5. To organize an Euro-Mediterranean event ( in one of the partner countries) where the youngster will meet again for sharing their viewpoints on the issue of disable people and for creating the model of “perfect city”.
  6. To share ideas on the issue of people with reduced mobility in order to create a common framework.
  7. To create one common model of “perfect city” in terms of accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and that those models are physical and done with recycled materials.
  8. To boost dialogue and understanding among “minorities” and “mainstream society”

 

Activities:

The project main activities will be :

  • A course on the project themes (1st phase ) in one of the countries of the project.
  • A Euro-Mediterranean  event where the youngest will meet , share the ideas on the project theme and create the model of “ perfect city” (2nd phase).

Course – October 2012

Euro-Mediterranean  event  Event – May 2013

 Financial conditions

During the training course and the Euro-Mediterranean event  accommodation and food will be 100% covered by the project. In addition to these, 80% of travel expenses will be reimbursed.

 What a  partner will do ?

The project foresee that the partners will be involved in the selection and preparation processes of the youngsters who will be the main actor of the project.

The partners will have an active role in the definitions of the details.

All partners will be requested to develop the project follow up and to take part in all the stages of the project.
