“Draw your future” è stato pianificato per dare inizio a un processo di miglioramento della partecipazione giovanile a diversi livelli –internazionale, nazionale, regionale e locale. Proprio perché, secondo i risultati di “European Youth: Participation in Democratic Life”, un sondaggio del 2013, il 44% dei giovani intervistati non ha preso parte a nessuna delle attivitá proposte dalle associazioni giovanili negli ultimi anni. Inoltre, studi più approfonditi hanno rivelato che la mancanza di partecipazione da parte dei giovani a attivitá per loro designate é un problema incalzante in tutta Europa. È fondamentale sottolineare l’importanza delle organizzazioni giovanili nel rendere la societá un luogo migliore e la responsabilitá che queste hanno nel dare ai giovani l’opportunitá di sviluppare se stessi per cambiare la societá dopo. È anche vero che molti esempi di successo di organizzazioni giovanili spesso rimangono sconosciuti, specialmente quando si tratta di progetti guidati da giovani in comunitá locali. È per questo che alcune organizzazioni hanno organizzato il seminario del progetto “Draw your future”, che avrá luogo a Odemis in Turchia, tra il 4 e il 10 maggio 2017. Il seminario riunirá 30 giovani lavoratori/educatori e leaders membri dello staff, provenienti da 6 Paesi differenti (Turchia, Grecia, Italia, Ucraina, Ungheria e Albania), 5 giovani mandati da ogni organizzazione. i partecipanti avranno le competenze necessarie a condividere con il gruppo informazioni dettagliate circa il supporto o il miglioramento da loro fornito ai progetti organnizato dai giovani nelle loro comunitá di appartenenza.
Gli obiettivi perseguiti sono i seguenti:
- Condivisione di una idea comune di partecipazione giovanile, cittadinanza europea attiva e progettazione guidata dai giovani, concentrandosi particolarmente sull’approccio alla questione ‘gender’ e l’uso dei media;
- Migliorare la conoscenza delle pratiche più efficenti per sviluppare progetti organizzati da giovani in tutta Europa e sviluppare le abilitá delle organizzazioni giovanili e dei gruppi informali;
- Creare un network di organizzazioni che coopereranno nel lungo periodo sugli argomenti trattati per farli divenire una risorsa per le altre organizzazioni europee.
Infatti, il meeting internazionale è stato pensato ad hoc per comprendere più approfonditamente il problema della partecipazione giovanile, della cittadinanza giovani e dei progetti guidati da giovani a livello europeo. Iniziando dalla condivisione di uno scenario comune europeo sulle questioni principali, tutte le organizzazioni partners coinvolte e i loro partecianti avranno la possibilitá di presentare la loro realtá nazionale e condividere le strategie migliori in merito alle organizzazioni nei loro Paesi. Gli esempi pratici costituiscono lo strumento migliore per rafforzare la partecipazione giovanile. Nel frattempo, i giovani vedranno con i proprio occhi come da piccoli passi possano derivare grandi effetti. Inoltre, tutti coloro che parteciperanno all’incontro svlupperanno e acquisiranno coscienza delle loro competenze personali e professionali sugli argomenti trattati. Tutto questo al fine di agire come moltiplicatori sociali una volta che avranno fatto ritorno ai loro Paesi. Infine, i partecipati avranno condiviso, scambiato e imparato da gli altri. Sará questo il fondamento su cui poggierá la rinnovata comunitá europea di giovani educatori.

Developing local communities through the project Draw your future, in May in Turkey!

“Draw your future” has been planned to initiate a virtuous process to improve youth involvement at very different levels –international, national, regional and local-. In fact, according to “European Youth: Participation in Democratic Life”, Survey from 2013, 44 % of the youth respondents did not take part in any of the activities held by youth organisations within the past years. Moreover, further researches reveal the lack of youth participation is a pressing issue all around Europe. It is crucial to stress the relevance held by youth organizations in making societies better places and the responsibility they have to give to the youngsters the chance to first develop themselves in order to put the change into action. It is also true that successful examples of youth participations are often unknown, especially when it comes to youth-led projects in local communities. Therefore, some organizations resolute for the launch of the seminary of the “Draw your future” project, which is due to May 4th to 10th in Odemis, Tukey. The seminar will gather 30 youth workers/trainers/leaders/key staff members, coming from 6 different countries (Turkey, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Hungary and Albania), 5 participants from each organization. They will be provided with the competences to share detailed information about the support to or implementation of youth-led projects in their communities, as they have previously participated in the project with a main role.
The objectives pursued are set as follow:
- sharing a common understanding of youth participation, European active citizenship and youth-led projects, focusing on a gender sensitive approach and use of different media;
- increasing the knowledge of best practices on how to develop successful youth-led projects around Europe and foster the skills of youth organizations and informal groups;
- creating a network of organizations that will cooperate in a long term prospective on the topic becoming a resource for the other organizations all over Europe.
In fact, the international meeting has been thought as a starting point for a better understanding of youth participation, active citizenship and youth-led projects at European level. Starting from sharing a European framework of the main topics, all the partner organizations involved and their participants will have the opportunity to present their national contexts and to share the best practices on youth-led projects in their countries. Practical examples will make for the best tool to strengthen the capacity to support the empowerment of youth. In the meantime, the youngsters will see with their own eyes that small steps can lead to bigger changes. Besides, all the participants involved in the meeting will develop and recognize their personal and professional competences in the addressed topics in order to act as multipliers, once they will go back to their youth organizations. Eventually, the participants will have shared, exchanged and learnt from each others. This will be the fundament of renovate European community of youth developers.
