A distanza di 6 mesi dall’incontro preliminare avvenuto a Iasi (Romania), dal 4 all’8 dicembre 2017 è stato organizzato dal “AICSCC – Gamma Institute” lo scambio europeo dal titolo “Stand-Up Psychology for Youth”, coadiuvato del partner italiano “CEIPES” e da quello spagnolo “ASPAYM”.
3 ragazze e 4 ragazzi hanno composto il team italiano “in missione ” nell’accogliente città rumena, creando un mix di esperienza e novità: da chi aveva già una certa familiarità a questo tipo di attività a chi non sapeva cosa ci fosse al di là delle Alpi. Ed è proprio questa ventata di freschezza ad aver contribuito ad un continuo scambio di idee e punti di vista, sorprendendo i “veterani”del gruppo.
L’arrivo in città è stato per tutti una grande fonte di curiosità sotto vari aspetti: dal programma dello scambio all’interazione con i partecipanti degli altri paesi, al desiderio di conoscere la cultura di un paese così distante e differente come quello rumeno. Impeccabile l’organizzazione ospitante nel preparare le attività che hanno seguito un percorso di educazione non formale, scelta quanto mai appropriata per far integrare nel più breve tempo possibile circa 20 ragazzi provenienti da 3 paesi (Romania, Italia e Spagna).
Il progetto di “Stand-Up Psychology” risponde ai bisogni dei giovani per sviluppare le loro capacità al fine di raggiungere la transizione verso la vita adulta, per aumentare la loro autostima e per avere fiducia nel loro sogno personale e professionale. Già dal titolo del progetto si potrebbe commettere un grave errore di valutazione: nonostante gran parte dei partecipanti svolge o ha svolto studi psicologici (ad esempio nel team italiano soltanto un ragazzo non è studente di psicologia), ciò non comporta una discriminante nei confronti di chi non ha mai seguito tale disciplina. L’introduzione di elementi “vergini” conferisce alle attività dei risultati talvolta sorprendenti e soggetti a successivi studi ed approfondimenti. La professionalità e la preparazione dei trainer del “Gamma Institute” ha favorito un’atmosfera piacevole che ha permesso un feed back positivo dei partecipanti, i quali sono stati invogliati fin da subito a seguire tutte le attività e ad interagire tra di loro.
Sostenere i giovani nello sviluppo delle loro competenze e abilità per un sano avvio nella vita adulta, per ottenere la loro indipendenza e per mantenere il loro entusiasmo e creatività è un processo quanto mai faticoso e intimo. Spesso veniva chiesto di raggiungere degli obiettivi facendo affidamento al proprio “super potere”, raffigurazione simbolica del proprio modus operandi nei confronti degli ostacoli che la vita ci pone quotidianamente.
Il “super potere” è stato il tema fondante dell’evento “GAMMA Ball of the Conquerers” nella quale tutti i partecipanti, dotati del loro super potere erano i Re o le Regine del loro regno (simbolo dalla vita). La serata è stata, inoltre, ulteriore occasione di socializzazione con gli altri volontari del “Gamma Institute” presenti per ribadire la loro gratitudine nei confronti dei giovani italiani e spagnoli.
I valori di “cittadinanza europea”, fondamentali per ogni scambio europeo, sono stati pienamente rispettati nella serata “Intercultural evening” dove i gruppi partecipanti hanno presentato il loro Paese dal punto di vista geografico, culturale, artistico e culinario. Quest’ultimo aspetto è stato esposto imbandendo una tavola con prodotti tipici della tradizione nazionale e regionale che sono stati poi offerti a tutti i ragazzi. I momenti liberi hanno ricoperto un importante ruolo, non solo perché abbiamo avuto la possibilità di visitare le maggiori attrazioni turistiche ma anche di riflettere e condividere sugli usi e i costumi del popolo rumeno che si è mostrato a sua volta attento e interessato alle “contaminazioni” culturali.
Definire una conclusione comune a tutti i partecipanti o al solo team italiano è davvero molto difficile perché trattasi di un percorso introspettivo. Cambiano le sensazioni, cambiano le aspettative e cambiano persino i risultati ottenuti in ognuno di noi. Occorrerebbe scrivere un articolo individuale ma, anche in questo caso, non basterebbero mille pagine Word.

Six months after the preliminary meeting took place in Iasi (Romania), from 4 to 8 December 2017 “AICSCC – Gamma Institute” organized the European exchange “Stand-Up Psychology for Youth”, assisted by the Italian partner “CEIPES” and the Spanish one “ASPAYM”.
Three girls and four boys have formed the Italian team “in mission” in the welcoming Romanian city, creating a mix of experience and novelty: from those who already had a certain familiarity with this type of activity to those who did not know, what was beyond of the Alps. And it is this freshness that has contributed to a continuous exchange of ideas and points of view, surprising the “veterans” of the group.
The arrival in the city was for everyone a great source of curiosity in various aspects: from the exchange program to the interaction with the participants of the other countries, to the desire to know the culture of a country so distant and different as the Romanian one.
The hosting organization was impeccabile along the preparation of the activities, following a non-formal education path, a very appropriate choice to integrate about 20 young people from three different countries (Romania, Italy and Spain) as soon as possible.
The “Stand-Up Psychology” project responds to the needs of young people to develop their skills in order to achieve the transition to adult life, to increase their self-esteem and to trust their personal and professional dreams.
Even from the title of the project you could make a serious error of assessment: although most of the participants perform or have done psychological studies (for example, in the Italian team only one boy is not a student of psychology), this does not discriminate against those who never followed this discipline. The introduction of “virgin” elements gives sometimes surprising results and are subject to subsequent and deeper studies.
The professionalism and the preparation of the “Gamma Institute” trainers favored a pleasant atmosphere that allowed a positive feedback from the participants, who were immediately encouraged to follow all the activities and interact with each other.
Supporting young people in the development of their skills and abilities for a healthy start in adult life, to obtain their independence and to maintain their enthusiasm and creativity is a very tiring and intimate process. Often they were asked to achieve goals by relying on their “super power”, a symbolic representation of their modus operandi against the obstacles that life poses us daily.
The “super power” was the founding theme of the “GAMMA Ball of the Conquerers”, an event in which all the participants, endowed with their super power, were the Kings or the Queens of their kingdom (symbol of life). The evening was also a further opportunity for socializing with the other volunteers of the “Gamma Institute” present to reiterate their gratitude towards young Italians and Spaniards.
The values of “European citizenship”, fundamental for every European exchange, were fully respected in the “Intercultural evening” where the participating groups presented their country from a geographical, cultural, artistic and culinary point of view. This last aspect has been exposed by setting up a table with typical products of the national and regional tradition that were then offered to all the boys.
Free moments played an important role, not just because we had the chance to visit the major tourist attractions, but also to reflect and share on the customs and traditions of the people Romanian which has shown itself to be attentive and interested in cultural “pollutions”.
Defining a common conclusion to all the participants or to the Italian team is really very difficult because it is an introspective journey. Feelings change, expectations change and change even the results obtained in each of us. It would be necessary to write an individual article, but also in this case, a thousand Word pages would not be enough.
