Nome del progetto: “Formazione all’arrivo O.A.T. 11 e 12”

Luogo: Roma

Periodo: 18-25 Maggio 2017

Organizzazione ospitante: Amesci e ENAIP

CEIPES’s European volunteers Jesus and Eva have participated last week in the training “Formazione all’arrivo O.A.T. 11 e 12” in the city of Rome, organized by Amesci and ENAIP, as part of the preparation for the EVS volunteers, within the Erasmus + programme, let’s read about their experience!

This project, which took place between the 18th and the 25th of May, is a training seminar for the new EVS volunteers who arrive in Italy, informing them of the conditions of the program and solving doubts so that they can carry out their volunteering in the best possible way.

During the activities of the project the rights and obligations of the volunteer were explained, as well as the objectives and values of Erasmus + programme. The organization also taught strategies for conflict resolution in a non-formal education context, and understanding and tolerance were promoted with diverse points of view and cultures. Finally, we had an Italian language course to help integrate into social life.

We have received valuable information that will be useful to us throughout our projects, in addition to reaching a network of contacts throughout the country and providing us a valuable multicultural experience.

This new life lesson has served to us and the rest of volunteers to learn how to face what will be our lives in the coming months, in addition to making friends from all over the country. In our opinion, we also have had the opportunity to know ourselves better and to get tools and knowledge that will be useful in the future.

As examples of some of the way we can have  to expand our knowledge about other cultures, during the meals we were able to talk among the volunteers about the typical gastronomy of our respective countries, as well as the customs at the time of eating. In addition, the volunteers shared quite a few typical expressions in their mother tongues, as well as a large amount of songs and music from the differents countries of origin.
