In the framework of the “International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence for the Children of the world” (2000-2010)” declared by UNESCO – www3.unesco.org/iycp/, CEIPES has created the publication “Culture of Peace in Young People’s View” that is included within the CEIPES Learning Collection.
The publication edited in English, digital and printed version, has about 70 pages which give an account of the results coming out from the homonymous project, that was implemented with the financial support from the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.
The main purpose of the project was to understand young people’s view about culture of peace and violence and in the same time to facilitate a space of comm
on reflection and free expression of thoughts and opinions concerning these themes. In the project participated 121 young people from 6 countries: Italy, Hungary, Macedonia, Armenia, Serbia and The Netherlands.
The manual includes several activities to do with youth within the topics described. Moreover the manual includes an educational DVD with the interviews undertook by young people from the different participating countries and some photos too. The DVD was created with the purpose to be a training aid for teachers, educators and youth workers when working with youth on these themes.
